Well that's our first match over. We have a new captain In Simon James who scored a great 38 points in some harsh conditions. Simon will be presented with a limited edition Black Shirt at our next Match @ Boughton on the 2nd April
Runner Up with a very impressive 36 was Steve Miller who pipped Clive Stevens on CountBack.
Dan Appleby outdrove everyone to win Long Drive and Bongo Bravery won the Nearest to the Pin.
Our Charity Hole winner was Dave Jupp who proved you don't need distance on all your drives as he was closest to the line (almost on it).
After the prizes were handed out the raffle was held and a free round at Boughton was won by Michael Whyte. Some seriously naff other prizes were won and i can only apologise hahaha
Grethe was our unlucky Wooden Spoon recipient and i heard rumour it was well deserved after hitting the 150yd marker several times on the same hole.
Special mention must go to James Wilkie who was definitely a brave soul to traipse back to the tee box after losing his ball on the first hole. Also Thanks to James for his work in the new Handicap System he has set up to help maintain a fairer method of scoring. It's much appreciated.
Clive had a little more faith than most of us and won the sweepstakes. I enjoyed going out last as I think I found all your lost balls.
We had some new members today and i hope you found it enjoyable and fun. Some of you have never played this style of golf but as you may of seen, it's not complicated.
We'd really like everyone to get the chance to play a match with each other at some point so we will be mixing you all up at Boughton. Touch wood the buggy's will be out. It was extremely exhausting for some and i can only say thank you for turning up and giving it a go.
I will be sending more emails out (shock) about our next match and updating social media.
Once I figure out how to put it on here you'll get the link but you can search for crusadersgolfsociety on Instagram and Facebook I'll stick some pictures on there and you check yourselves out. A big thank you to you all for today for your generosity. With the Charity Hole and your cash donations we have started the year of with a £45 collection to Diabetes UK. If that spirit and kindness is replicated over and over again we can reach £500 easily.
It was cold, it was wet, it was windy but it was fun. I had a really good day. I hope you did too. Until next time, Swing Easy
No problem. Bad weather, bad golf but great company. Well played Simon. A good score considering the conditions
A well organised day thank you Chris & Dan. It's a nice touch reading the report of the day & seeing all the pictures, a nice reminder. Thank you & well done.
